Marco del Rio

Tenor Marco Del Rio overenthusiastically loves music. He began his studies at Capilano University, but then went on to complete a B.Mus and B.Ed at the University of British Columbia. Although his degree says “Oboe” on it, he’s never been able to say no to different and exciting musical experiences, so he likes to think of himself as a growing singer, multi-instrumentalist, teacher, and arranger now.

He is involved with many musical projects around the city, including “VanDeca”, a local choir he musically directs, “Elsay”, his Celtic folk band, and the “Hikari Woodwind Quintet” as music arranger. His other obsessions include punishingly difficult video games, overanalyzing metal music, and experimental cooking.
