
Chris Blaber is a scholarship and award winning student in his fourth year of a bachelors in music composition at SFU. Chris has had his compositions featured at Vancouver Pro-musicas 2015 Sonic Boom festival, at SFU student composition concerts and has performed many with his own ensembles. During summer 2015 Chris was a composer, production manager and performer for an original children’s musical theatre production called Tavey the Barefoot Knight that was completely written, directed, and managed by himself and 3 others. The show went on a 6-week, 45-show tour in which he participated as an actor, singer, and percussionist, providing an energetic and entertaining show. Chris is a member of Gamelan Alligator Joy, an improvised music duo called Audinos, a progressive rock group called Bicycle Gypsy, he is the director of Kinetic Percussion (which performs educational and new music shows), and works as a freelance percussionist and composer.
